![]() She remarks on how she feels like she’s finishing Sam’s work for her, but I’d agree, she likely didn’t stop anything. Curing the Leviathan seemed to me like it was significant to Robin purely on a personal level. We know Alterra is still watching the planet because Robin had to use the meteor shower as cover. Maybe they only abandoned it until an investigation into the sabotage is complete. We find that Alterra lady’s recordings of her inspections into the lab explosion and cave collapse. No clue why Alterra abandoned the place but maybe it’s just been abandoned until a further assessment can be made about what happened. Thank you in advance and I hope that at least some things will get a good answer. There are more and more questions the more I think about it, but those are the most important ones, so I'll leave it at that for now. Is there any reason why nature could've survived there? BUT for some reason there's another place on the planet where life just goes on as normal, even before the cure was released at the end of SN1 (which is evident because Margeruit arrived and lived there for years before any cure). This is why the void is the void and not sprawling nature. This is unique and just because of the enzyme that comes from the sea emperor and is spread through the whole eco system through peepers. Iirc, in subnautica the narrative was that the bacterium infected and killed everything in the planet - excluding microorganisms and everything in the crater the Aurora lands in. ![]() So, how did she live like 10 years with no antidote. Paul died (or would've died soon in case he was killed by the Crabsquid) because of the bacterium. But why? She could've cured the infection, why didn't she just do that? And also, was it actually an accident that the cave didn't collapse fully and that she was killed in the process? It seems like she was killed in a partial cave collapse she initiated herself. In both cases, it matters little what Robin does. On the other hand, if they had literally any interest in it, they would've 100% just taken a sample with them while leaving. On one hand, Alterra has already abandoned the projects and is not researching the bacterium further. This is probably the pinnacle of the main story, but it feels so useless. ![]() Why is Robin curing the Leviathan significant? Why would they do that? They still had access to the bacterium, they could've continued - but seemingly decided not to and just leave. But even though only 2 people died, everything is abandoned. The alien tech and the bacterium seem to be incredibly lucrative things to research for Alterra. Hi guys, I almost finished SN BZ, but still have a few question that I hope you might be able to answer:
